Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, Nadja Swarovski; Slow Factory Foundation Executive Director, Céline Semaan; and Lucie Brigham from the United Nations Office for Partnerships welcomed the program’s participants and advisors Charlotte McCurdy, Mara Hoffman, Ngozi Okaro of Custom Collaborative, Theanne Schiros, Abrima Erwiah, Alexi Lubomirski, Burak Cakmak, Kikka Hanazawa, Marjon Carlos, Regan Grusy, Shaway Yeh and Yash Ranga. Guests of the party included some iconic faces including Caroline Vazzana, Francois Souchet, Giada Lubomirski, Sofya Benzakour, Suzy Menkes and Andre Kikoski.
The program has been created to empower creative minds and foster sustainable collaborations between designers, scientists, companies and researchers who drive sustainability forward. Supported by the United Nations Office for Partnerships, One X One: The Conscious Design Initiative brings together creatives with a focus on sustainable practices by pairing them to elevate their innovations. The participants are supported with grants to promote emerging innovations, scale practices, and inspire the industry and the project pairings have been curated around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the highest-level motivators, to create results that are ‘Good for the Earth, Good for the People’.
