For the design of the 2016 Swarovski Opera Ball tiara, Boltenstern was inspired by the concept of a young woman finding herself, for the first time, in the middle of a magical scene at the ball in the stunning Vienna State Opera. Playing with the imperfect perfection found in nature, the tiara conjures up an image of a blossoming flower, an aspiring star.
Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board shares “Our history with the Vienna Opera Ball goes back to the 1950s. With so many shared traditions and values, it is fantastic to continue our support for this institution. As an Austrian brand we are also delighted to collaborate with Marie Boltenstern, one of Vienna’s brightest emerging design talents, and to celebrate the craftsmanship and creativity that has been passed on from generation to generation.”
Debutantes flocked to the Vienna Opera Ball on February 4th, 2016 for an unforgettable evening, shining in Boltenstern’s tiara with the promise of youth and paying a waltzing homage to classic tradition.
