Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, shared, “It is a pleasure to reaffirm our commitment to innovative design thinking and education with the new Swarovski Creative Center in Dubai. We look forward to seeing it become an inspirational hub for design in the region, helping to enable creative talent to develop and thrive.”
Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, COO of Dubai Design District, added, “d3 are delighted to welcome the first Swarovski Creative Center ever to launch in the Middle East. We are dedicated to creating a truly inclusive creative ecosystem that incorporates design from every facet of the industry – both design and innovation are key pillars to d3 and so we are proud to welcome this inspiring facility into the community to enable us to equip, promote, and nurture our next generation of design talent.”
The Swarovski Creative Center opened in August 2017 with an exhibition honoring Atelier Swarovski’s 10th anniversary. As the ultimate expression of Swarovski crystal, the brand’s cutting-edge collaborations with visionary design talents like Jean Paul Gaultier, Jason Wu and Christopher Kane were on display. In addition, Anjali Srinivasan’s ‘Unda’ – a six-meter-long installation that combines glass elements with illuminating Touch Crystal technology – is on display during September and October to celebrate and inspire opportunities for innovation. Other planned events are to be announced soon, promising to be a dynamic calendar for a multitude of creatives and designers alike.
At the core of Swarovski lies a passion for creative development. With each new venture, the brand explores fresh and exciting ways to connect emerging talent with mentors who can support them with their professional development, as well as bring together fellow designers, manufacturers, buyers and patrons of design within the industry. Maintaining a responsibility on positive social impact, Swarovski will continue to grow its creative network, sharing available resources in hopes of a more united – and imaginative – design community.
