Each multi-faceted adornment lends complexity and spirit to the captivating costumes. 14,000 hand-embellished crystals shine vividly on aerialist Anne Wheeler’s (Zendaya) lilac stretch-satin leotard, creating a mesmerizing display of sparkle with each high-flying move. On P.T. Barnum’s star attraction, Swedish nightingale soprano Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson), a voluminous white silk gown and coat with intricate crystal embroidery mirror the opera singer’s grandiose vocals.
The Showgirls’ headdresses feature 3,400 hand-set stones each while The Bearded Lady (Keala Settle) performs in crystal-embellished shoes. The Human Cannonball blazes through the air in a fully-crystallized jumpsuit, and Gold Girl (Martha Nichols) puts the finishing touches on her gilded look with Atelier Swarovski by Lanvin necklaces.
Ellen Mirojnick commented: “The stars of The Greatest Showman needed to sparkle – so where else would you go but Swarovski crystal? They add that layer of theatrical pizzazz that really lights up the character to the highest level.”
The film’s lively stars and stories continued to inspire beyond the set with Atelier Swarovski’s newest collection ‘Rewrite the Stars,’ named after a romantic love song performed by Anne Wheeler and Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron) upon their first meeting. Playing muse to the ten-piece range of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, The Greatest Showman’s spirit of imagination and empowering message of dreaming big shine through in star-shaped designs comprised of fiery Siam colored crystals.
Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, commented: “We are delighted to have collaborated with The Greatest Showman, which so brilliantly reflects the values of diversity and inclusion that are important to us at Swarovski. We are also excited to launch our Atelier Swarovski Rewrite the Stars collection inspired by the film. It is a beautiful reminder to dream the impossible.”
The Greatest Showman premieres December 20 in the U.S., sharing a story sure to warm hearts during the magical holiday season, with Rewrite the Stars landing at Fenwick of Bond Street and online starting in December.
