Hong Kong based singer-songwriter G.E.M shines during her word tour, ‘Queen of Hearts’ in Swarovski crystal-embellished costumes created in collaboration with designer Emma Wallace.
Gloria Tang Tsz-Kei, popular through her moniker G.E.M (Get Everybody Moving), began her international tour on April 1st with a kick off concert in Guangzhou. The superstar sported four exclusive looks conceptualized by her formal stylist Emma Wallace, famous for her work with Asian celebrities such as Jeannie Mai and Gabby So. In collaboration with Swarovski, the costumes feature glittering crystal adornments and are inspired by the strength of female warriors, showcasing an East-meets-West style aesthetic.
Emma Wallace explained: “During this journey, G.E.M. is a beautiful warrior, with all the components of a Queen - vibrant, charismatic and versatile - and these will be shown through both her music, costumes and accessories, inviting everyone into this fun world. For the first look, we focus on Chinese opera, mixed with western influences and combined with Swarovski crystals. Ultimately, through the journey of self-discovery, she will evolve into a more vivid character - following the theme of her latest album, “Heartbeat”, celebrating the independent women in our modern society.”
Among the wardrobe is a sportswear influenced look in metallic silver shining with iridescent stones; a theatrical cutwork gown glistening with blue crystals; and a stunning blue jumpsuit enhanced with intricate crystal beading.
G.E.M commented: “I’m more than excited about the collaboration with Swarovski in my new world tour ‘Queen of Hearts’. It’s the cherry on the top of Emma’s designs and brings a stunning impact to the performance, especially under our delicate stage lighting when the shimmering crystals shine gorgeously. The costumes reinforce my character as a confident and independent Queen and give me the power to dedicate myself to bringing an extraordinary and unforgettable experience to all my fans.”
