Leading up to this year’s Fashion Awards Atelier Swarovski revealed its sparkling partnership with sustainable designer, Stella McCartney. The collaboration celebrates the coming together of two creative business women – Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board and Stella McCartney who place people and the planet at the heart of everything they do. The duo ignited conversation about Conscious Luxury and sustainability in fashion to inspire the next generation of creatives.
As part of the thriving collaboration, Atelier Swarovski took Conscious Luxury to the next level and proudly styled glamorous supermodel muses – Amber Valletta, Joan Smalls and Karen Elson – in sustainably created custom looks accompanied by fine jewelry that featured Swarovski Created Diamonds and recycled gold.
Committed to making a positive impact, Swarovski also collaborated with the brightest emerging designers of the night such as Patrick McDowell, Caroline Smithson from Ssone and Tiziano Guardini to create responsibly sourced looks embellished with Swarovski upcycled crystals. Nadja Swarovski walked the red carpet in perfect sparkle adorned in Atelier Swarovski jewelry, as did Mica Argañaraz, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Lady Amelia Windsor, Iris Law, Victoria Swarovski, Leonie Hanne, Tamara Kalinic, Xénia Adonts, Jessica Wang, Andreea Cristea, Giorgina Clavarino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Clara Paget, Johanna Maggy, Patrick McDowell and Wilson Oryema.
The winners of the night were presented with the bespoke Swarovski trophy envisioned by world-renowned designer, Ross Lovegrove, which glittered in the hands of Naomi Campbell for Fashion Icon, Sam McKnight for the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and Daniel Lee at Bottega Venetta, who received four accolades for Accessories Designer of the Year, Womenswear Designer of the Year, Brand of the Year and Designer of the Year. The extraordinary trophy was inspired by nature and its incredible biodiversity, “the DNA strand is something which we all share. I’ve always been fascinated that something that’s so mathematical becomes the basis for everything, for every species, every living thing.”– Ross Lovegrove.
Swarovski continues to create a more sparkling world with its inspiring collaborations in the hope that it will ignite and drive sustainable development.
