The book was brought to life in an exclusive one-day exhibition at Phillips Gallery in London, which showcased the collaboration, creativity and innovation at the heart of the brand. The glamorous exhibition, curated by art director and set designer Simon Costin, featured crystallized dresses by iconic fashion houses such as Givenchy and Viktor&Rolf, Atelier Swarovski jewelry and home décor pieces and dynamic runway films and projections.
As part of the celebration, Atelier Swarovski invited distinguished friends of the brand to join a lunchtime panel discussion, The Power of Collaboration to Drive Creativity and Innovation, moderated by esteemed editor and show critic Tim Blanks. Those in conversation were Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, designers Pippa Small and Stephen Webster; Director of the Whitechapel Gallery Iwona Blazwick; and author and fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave, editor of ‘Brilliant’. Committed to nurturing emerging talent, Swarovski filled the audience with the next generation of creatives from Central Saint Martins and the London School of Fashion, so they could gain insights into the fashion, art and design industries.
That evening, the exhibition space was transformed for a cocktail event where the fashion world’s elite, including Jourdan Dunn, Edward Enninful and Bianca Jagger, joined past collaborators, such as Mary Katrantzou, Christopher Kane, Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos, to toast Atelier Swarovski’s success. Stunning illuminations and visual effects inspired by Swarovski’s mastery of light and crystal cutting created a striking backdrop as guests mingled to a live DJ set by Lady Mary Charteris. Guests also enjoyed a virtual reality experience, an interactive digital timeline and a bespoke Instagram moment.
Nadja Swarovski commented: “Atelier Swarovski was founded to push the creative boundaries of crystal through inspiring collaborations with the world’s leading talent. The brand’s enduring success is a tribute to all the incredible designers whose creative vision brings our crystal to life. We look forward to another extraordinary decade, and more.
