Japanese artist Saya Kubota re-envisions
Swarovski Marcasite as a creative material. The intriguing metallic mineral,
precision-cut by Swarovski, takes center stage in Saya’s series “Incomplete Existence.” Integrating 50,000
pieces of the iridescent genuine gemstone into antique decorative objects—most
notably earthenware pottery dating back to historic Japanese eras (circa 300
B.C.) and a roof tile from the Tenpyo era (early 8th century)—these
objets d’art are exquisite and fascinating.
