Ten years ago, Swarovski commissioned leading designers from the worlds of jewelry and fashion to create their ultimate vision of Catwalk accessories. Entitled “Runway Rocks,” the designers were invited to find new expressions for crystal, challenging conventions of form & function and playing with colour, volume and proportion.
Launched in London, the first Runway Rocks was with a breathtaking show—and the first time that an entire runway presentation had been dedicated to the art of catwalk jewelry. With a high-profile audience, each designer shone brilliantly creating a pivotal, unexpected fashion moment.
Designers who participated in this inaugural event included Shaun Leane, who creates jewels for Alexander McQueen, Scott Wilson, who worked with Karl Lagerfeld, Johnny Rocket, known for collaborations with Julien MacDonald, as well as fine jewelry designer Luigi Scialanga who has bejeweled Ungaro’s shows.
The Collections have been in demand in fashion capitals of the world, from Paris to New York, from Sao Paulo to Shanghai, and have continued to excite and delight audiences all over the world.
