New York based designer Jason Wu has been part of the Swarovski Collective for six seasons, creating crystal-embellished catwalk looks that have gone on to be worn on the red carpet by Diane Kruger, Michelle Williams and Emma Watson. Wu combines modern evening dressing with haute-couture details that are always innovative, yet romantic. In Spring/Summer 2010, he designed his first collection for Atelier Swarovski and in 2012, Swarovski supported the designer in producing an insightful film that documented the inspiration behind his Resort 2013 collection.
AW 2012 COLLECTION
Inspired by the iconic militaristic Mao jacket, the 1940s Hollywood version of Eastern glamour and imagery from the Qing Dynasty, Jason Wu’s AW12 collection is an ode to China. Using an array of colorful embroideries, silk and velvet textures, gold braiding and loose stones by Swarovski Elements, Wu’s collection is the perfect multi-cultural mix.

“Spring 2009 is inspired by my trip to Tokyo where I was especially drawn to the energy of the busy streets. The collection consists of bright hues and embroidered prints layered with airy organza and chiffon. I've incorporated Swarovski crystals within the embroidered pieces to highlight and emphasize texture and form,” – Jason Wu
