Chinese-born and London-based designer Huishan Zhang is building a luxury brand synonymous with femininity and romance. Drawing influence from both his Eastern heritage and Western surrounds, Zhang’s collections as part of the Swarovski Collective have showcased the versatility of Swarovski crystal and how it can be applied to traditional Chinese embroideries; occasionally adding avant-garde details such as Swarovski crystal zips to elegant silhouettes.

A mix of exquisite eveningwear, stunning outerwear, and even modernised tweed, Huishan Zhang's Fall/Winter 2015 collection was perfectly suited to the presentation's venue, the Rosewood London Hotel's Mirror Room. A bespoke crystal motif served as the finishing touch on several pieces while a full-length gown stunned with a crystallized grid overlaying black chiffon.

"For this summer season, we’re trying some very playful crystal embellishment techniques; it’s really great that the Swarovski Collective can support that kind of innovation and excitement in design" Huishan Zhang.
