Hosting the work at the V&A, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty represents a coming home of sorts. McQueen was raised in London, studied at Central Saint Martins and was a frequent visitor to the V&A, where he was inspired by the array of exhibits and artifacts. A consummate student of history, the V&A was a playground for McQueen’s limitless imagination, and it’s only fitting that his work should find a temporary resting place in its halls.
A long-time collaborator with Alexander McQueen, Swarovski will serve as a headline sponsor of the exhibition, with a number of pieces featuring the brand’s crystal product included in the exhibition. Among these are the Bird’s Nest Headdress and the Bell Jar dress, both of which received international acclaim for their innovation and creativity.
Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty opens at London’s V&A on March 14th. For more information and tickets, visit: http://swarovs.ki/hysD
