Swarovski has been an essential ingredient in high fashion for over 100 years, starting with collaborations with leading couturiers of Paris, such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel in the early 1900s, and luxury fashion houses like Christian Dior in the 1950s.
In 1999, we stepped up our commitment to supporting and celebrating both established and emerging designers with the creation of the Swarovski Collective sponsorship program, following a collaboration between Nadja Swarovski, a young Alexander McQueen and fashion icon Isabella Blow. The goal of the Collective is to encourage and challenge fashion's brightest talents to push the boundaries of crystal use. Each season, a select group of designers is invited to use Swarovski crystal in pioneering and innovative ways across their womenswear collections.
We pride ourselves on collaborating with the industry’s most cutting-edge and creative designers. In the 15 years that the Collective has been active, 150 designer collaborations have been presented at New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks, including Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Viktor & Rolf, Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler, Erdem, Givenchy, Alexander Wang Jason Wu and Giambatista Valli.
