As the first fully faceted ring from Swarovski, it quickly became a covetable statement piece, and its enduring appeal over the decades confirmed its place in jewelry history.
Not only is this dramatic ring sure to turn heads, its design also carries a deeper meaning. The Nirvana Ring takes its name from the state of perfect peace of mind attainable by she who wears it. As Rosemarie Le Gallais, one of the two designers behind the ring, explains: it represents “a part of the female dream world, while being an expression of understated glamour”. In many cultures, rings are traditional symbols of beauty and power, especially for women, and the Nirvana Ring gives this important symbolism a contemporary and stylish update.
Available in a range of captivating colors, each shade is a reminder of the brilliant purity of crystal and the magical layers of tone and depth that it can contain. The Nirvana Ring’s sparkle also earned it a starring role on the big screen thanks to an appearance in the 2008 movie Sex and the City, on the finger of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) when she is bridesmaid to Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker).
In 2019, it was relaunched for a new generation with subtle improvements in craftsmanship and a new array of rich hues for every woman. “The redesign plays on the original creative attributes while enhancing its durability,” explains creative director Nathalie Colin, who also co-designed the original. “The Nirvana Ring needs all our love to cherish it, to protect its legacy and to enable it to continue to empower women around the world to stand out.”
