Swarovski’s creative collaboration with Motown The Musical began with a successful run on Broadway in 2013 with Tony-award nominee designer ESOSA, who expressed the period’s signature style with stunning costumes for music diva Diana Ross and The Supremes among others, featuring hues of Aquamarine, Sapphire, Black Diamond and Siam.
Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, Motown The Musical is based on Berry Gordy’s autobiography ‘To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown’. With just $800 borrowed from his family, Motown founder Berry Gordy goes from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul, discovering and launching the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and many more. Motown The Musical uncovers the true story of the legendary record label that changed music history and created the soundtrack of a generation. The musical received four Tony Award nominations during its New York run, paving the way to a glittering West End debut.
